About us
Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service under the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania (LHMS) is a state budgetary institution responsible for meteorological (including agrometeorological, aeronautical and marine) and hydrological observations and forecasts. LHMS provides hydrometeorological information for Lithuanian institutions, enterprises and organizations, observes rules and regulations of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), participates in international projects and programmes, carries out scientific research, compiles and publishes reference books, annals, and surveys. The observational network covers all Lithuanian territory. The largest network subdivisions are in Kaunas, Klaipėda, Panevėžys, and Šilutė. LHMS staff consists of 314 employees. |
