Lithuania is located in a mid-latitude climate zone and, according to Alisov’s climate classification, belongs to the south-western sub-region of the Atlantic continental forest zone. Only the Baltic coastal climate area is closer to that of Western Europe and can be classified as a distinct sub-climate of the Southern Baltic.
